Clean up EDI journals and EDI history

In EDI studio:

  • All EDI transactions are logged in EDI history management (BisEdiHistory table).
  • You can use the staging concept to validate data in an intermediate area before it is further processed.

To prevent the database from containing too much data, you can clean up the:

  • EDI history in recurring mode.
  • EDI staging journals in recurring mode or manually.

For example, you want to keep the EDI staging journals for six months. Each week, you can do a cleanup, deleting staging journals older than six months. Procedure 1. Go to EDI > Periodic > EDI journal clean up > Clean EDI History. 2. Click OK. 3. Sub-task: Clean up EDI history. 4. Select Yes in the Delete EDI History field. 5. In the Number of days field, enter a number. 6. Sub-task: Clean up EDI journals. 7. Select Yes in the Delete EDI Staging journals field. 8. In the Number of days field, enter a number. 9. In the Statuses field, enter or select the desired statuses. 10. Select Yes in the Include EDI sales journals field. 11. Select Yes in the Include EDI purchase journals field. 12. Select Yes in the Include EDI inventory journals field. 13. Select Yes in the Include EDI transfer journals field. 14. Select Yes in the Include EDI DELFOR journals field. 15. Sub-task: Set up batch processing. 16. Expand the Run in the background section. 17. Select Yes in the Batch processing field and fill in the fields as desired. 18. Click Recurrence and fill in the fields as desired. 19. Click OK. 20. Click OK.
