Use data quality policies to ensure that your data is of the desired quality.

A data quality policy has one or more versions. A data quality policy version contains all elements of a data quality policy, except for the data quality policy header.

These data quality policy elements are version-specific:
  • Validation rule: Checks if the data is in line with the defined standards.
  • Duplicate check rule: Checks if the data doesn't already exist in the table.
  • Enrichment rule: Sets a value to complete or enrich data in the same table or in a related table.
  • Action rule: Sets a value to complete or enrich data in the same table.
  • Organization assignment: Defines to which organizations the data quality policy applies.
Element-specific setup:
  • For each rule, you can use conditions to define the data to which the rule applies.
  • For each validation rule, you can define a validation message that is shown if the validation rule is not met.
  • To define the organization association, you can use legal entities or an organization hierarchy.

When you copy a data quality policy, you must choose which versions you want to copy. Delete data  quality policy? Delete data  quality policy? Delete data quality policy Delete data quality policy You can delete or retire a data quality policy. If you try to delete a data quality policy: With an active version, it is neither deleted nor retired. With only draft versions, and at least one of these versions was active in the past, it is retired instead of deleted. To view the retired data quality policies, on the Data quality management workspace, click the Retired data quality policies tile. With only draft versions, and none of these versions were active in the past, it is deleted. Procedure 1. Click Data quality management. 2. On the Data quality policies tab, in the list, click the link of the desired data quality policy. 3. Click Delete. 4. Click Yes. 5. Close the page. Notes You can restore a retired data quality policy. To do so: On the Data quality management workspace, click the Retired data quality policies tile. Select the desired data quality policy. You can delete or retire a data quality policy.

If you try to delete a data quality policy:
  • With an active version, it is neither deleted nor retired.
  • With only draft versions, and at least one of these versions was active in the past, it is retired instead of deleted. To view the retired data quality policies, on the Data quality management workspace, click the Retired data quality policies tile.
  • With only draft versions, and none of these versions were active in the past, it is deleted.
