You can use a web service to define the possible options of a configurable lookup. To do so, set up a configurable lookup of type 'Web service'.
1. | Go to Data quality studio > Setup > Configurable lookups. |
2. | Click New. |
3. | In the Configurable lookup ID field, type a value. |
4. | In the Description field, type a value. |
5. | In the Configurable lookup type field, select 'Web service'. |
6. | Click Save. |
7. | Define the web service and related settings for the configurable lookup. |
  | Expand the Web services section. |
8. | In the Web service field, enter or select a value. |
9. | Define the web service response parameter which values can be used as input in the field to which the configurable lookup is applied. If you open the lookup for the field to which this configurable lookup is applied, in the grid, the values of this response parameter are shown in the Value column. |
  | In the WebService lookup value field field, enter or select a value. |
10. | Define the web service response parameter which values are used as the description of the values of the parameter that you defined in the Web service lookup value field. If you open the lookup for the field to which this configurable lookup is applied, in the grid, the values of this response parameter are shown in the Description column. |
  | In the WebService lookup value description field field, enter or select a value. |
11. | Define the minimum number of characters that must be entered in the field to which the configurable lookup is applied. The web service is called only if at least the minimum number of characters is entered. You can use this to limit the number of times the web service is called. |
  | In the Minimum input length field, enter a number. |
12. | Close the page. |
