For Data entry workflow, an integration is available to Master data management studio.
The Data entry workflow-Master data management studio integration is automatically activated if MDM is installed in the same environment as Data entry workflow.
You can create master records in the master data Management studio from a data entry workflow. If creating master records is enabled, and entered data is transferred to the target table, a master record is created for the applicable master data entity. Use the Master data management studio to further process the master record. For more information, refer to Master data management studio.
You can only set up the creation of master records from a data entry workflow template:
In Master Data Management Studio integration, you can indicate if company selection is enabled when data is transferred to target.
If on the data entry workflow, for a step, in the Master Data Management setup, the Show company selection check box is:
Cleared, the data is transferred to all companies as defined for the master data entity.
Selected, on the workflow task dialog, you must select the companies to which the data is transferred. Only select companies that are defined as target company for the master data entity. The data transfer is skipped for selected companies that are not defined as target company for the master data entity.
Note: Company selection only works if for the applicable master data entity the BisMdmHandlerDewCompanySelection handler is selected.
You can also use the Connectivity studio integration with Data entry workflow for Master data management studio. For example, when in Master data management studio a master record is released and sent to the target companies, you can have a data entry workflow started in the target company. You can use this to add target-company-specific data to the received record.
