You can run a data quality assessment to validate your existing customer records.

To do so:

  1. Set up a data quality assessment project
  2. Run the data quality assessment project
  3. Review the data quality assessment results

Set up data quality assessment project

Data quality studio > Quality assessment > Quality assessment projects

Set up a data quality assessment project to check for duplicates in the existing customer accounts.

Set up the data quality assessment project as specified here:

General Name: Customer assessment
Data quality policy assignment
  1. In the left pane, add the 'Customer policy'.
  2. On the Duplicate check rules tab, add the Customer_DC duplicate check rule.

Run data quality assessment project

Data quality studio > Periodic tasks > Run quality assessment

Run a data quality assessment project to check for duplicates in the existing customer accounts.

Set up the data quality assessment run as specified here:

Project name Customer assessment
Company You can run the selected data quality assessment projects in:
  • All companies. To do so, do not define a company.
  • Specific companies. To do so, select the desired companies.
Run in the background

A data quality assessment project is always run in batch in the background. You can run a data quality assessment in a recurring pattern. Fill in the fields and define the recurrence as desired.

Note: For testing purposes, you can run the assessment once. If so, do not define a recurrence.

Review data quality assessment results

Data quality studio > Inquiries > Quality assessment exceptions log

For each run quality assessment project, all related records with at least one warning or error are shown in the Quality assessment exceptions log. You can review the Quality assessment exceptions log.

The sequence of activities in the Quality assessment exceptions log review is:

  1. Start review
  2. Review and merge duplicates (as the Customer assessment only checked for duplicate customer accounts)
  3. Finish review
