# View the exception log for an assessment run

Open the exception log to review the individual validation failures and duplicate matches found by a specific assessment run.

## Prerequisites

An assessment run exists and has produced failed results.

## Steps

1. Press **Alt+Q** to open the **Tell Me** search.
2. Enter **Validation History** and select the page from the results.
3. Select the assessment run you want to review.
4. Select **Show Log**. The **Quality Assessment Exception Log** opens.
5. Review each result line.

| Column | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Assessment Run ID | The run that produced the result. |
| Policy ID | The policy that produced the result. |
| Table | The entity that was checked. |
| Record ID | The record that failed. |
| Check Type | Validation or Duplicate. |
| Field(s) | The field or fields that failed. When a record has multiple validation failures, this appears as a link that opens the full list of failed fields and outcome messages. |
| Outcome | Whether the result is an error or a warning. |
| Message | The message defined on the rule. |
| Status | Open, Accepted Deviation, or Resolved. |

### Results

You can review every failed validation and duplicate issue for the selected run and decide how to act on each one.
