In some instances, a company may choose to pick up purchased items from a vendor's location. If the company uses its own trucks to ship items to customers, the retrieval of purchased goods can often be scheduled while a truck returns to the warehouse after making deliveries.
You can manage this process by setting up pickup loads. A pickup load is a list of purchase orders to be procured from vendor locations. Once assigned, you can sequence these orders in the order they should be retrieved. After the pickup load is created, print a pickup sheet containing the pickup addresses of the assigned purchase orders and give it to a driver.
The following table describes a sequence of activities, with links to the topics that describe them. These activities are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
