When the setup is complete, go to Departments > Manufacturing > Planning and select the link for Visual Production Sequencer.
This opens one of two possible pages. If there are no active sessions for the user, the selection page Visual Production Sequencer appears. Here you can enter the location code you want to plan for (the Visual Sequencer is a single-location mandatory planning tool), the resources you want to plan (only resources belonging to that location code are shown), and the starting date and planning horizon you want to use.
Once you have made the correct selection, choose Start in the ribbon and the Visual Sequencer page loads.
Session management
If there is already an active session for the user, or if the user is a session administrator, a different page appears: Visual Production Sequencer Sessions.
This page shows a list of sessions in your name that are paused. Select a session and choose to Resume it or Cancel it.
If the user is a session administrator, they see all active and paused sessions of all users. They can resume their own paused session, start a new session, or terminate another user's session.
A session can be paused for several reasons (either user-driven (you chose to pause a session you were working on) or event-driven (an unforeseen event, such as a network failure, closed the Visual Sequencer). In both cases, the actions performed in the Visual Sequencer since the last save point (or the start of the session) are retained. When you restart the session, it resumes at the point where it broke off, without loss of information.
On the sessions page, you can also start a new session. The selection page Visual Production Sequencer appears and you can select a new set of data to work with.
Anywhere Mobility Solutions resources in use by another session) from the same user or from other users, appear in a different color and cannot be selected. This prevents two planners from planning on the same resource at the same time.
If you choose to cancel a selected session, that session is deleted from the list and Anywhere Mobility Solutions unsaved changes made in that session are lost. The system shows a warning that changes will be lost, and you can choose to stop or proceed with the cancellation.
Session administration
If a user is designated as a planning administrator in the user setup record, they act as the session administrator for the Visual Production Sequencer. On startup of the Visual Production Sequencer, they see the session list with all currently active or paused sessions. From this page they can create their own new session and resume or cancel their own paused session.
The session administrator can also end other users' sessions if necessary. Select the appropriate line and choose Cancel. Note that the session administrator cannot resume other users' sessions.
Cancelling another user's session shows the warning "You are about to cancel a session from another user, are you sure?". Cancelling your own session shows a warning only if there are unsaved changes.
