To track all work details in a project, Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Manufacturing Integration makes it possible to transfer WIP entries from a released production order to a project.

This walk-through covers how to set up the WIP transfer and process it. It illustrates the following tasks:
Check Manufacturing Setup.
Create a production order from a project.
Post consumption and output to a production order.
Change the status of the production order to Finished.
Monitor the project WIP and post consumption of the finished item.
Prerequisites
To complete this walk-through, you need:
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
CRONUS International Ltd. demonstration database.

Story
Eduardo is the project planner at CRONUS International Ltd. Eduardo notices from the project planning lines a requirement for part number 1150 and decides to create a production order through Order Planning.
Setup
Steps - Setup
Make sure the Transfer WIP from Production to Project setting in Manufacturing Setup is true.
Choose the
icon (Alt+Q), enter Manufacturing Setup, and click the relevant link.Select Manufacturing Solution Setup under the Administration section to open the setup page.
For Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Manufacturing Integration, one setting has been added: Transfer WIP from Production to Project.
Process
Steps - Create a production order
Open a project (or create one) and select a project task of the type Posting.
Open the Project Planning Lines.
Add a new line for item 1150 with a quantity of 2.
Release the project planning line.
From the project planning line Item Planning menu, open Order Planning.
On the Order Planning page, select Calculate Plan. This results in a new line for item 1150.
Select the line and click Make Order.
On the Make Supply Orders page, make sure Make Orders for is set to The Active Order and the Production Order field shows Firm Planned.
Click OK to complete the Make Order process.
Steps - Post consumption and output to the production order
From Order Planning, return to the Project Planning page and from the Item Planning menu use Show Replenishment Document.
In the Project Relation List, click the Production Order in the Source Record ID column.
In the View. Prod. Order Line List, click Show Document to open the firm planned production order.
Change the status of the production order to Released and open the released production order.
Verify that components are in inventory by running Order Planning (Related > Order > Planning).
If a purchase order has been created, receive the purchase order.
From the production order line, open the Production Journal.
Specify setup and run times and mark the operations as Finished.
Post the production journal.
When the production journal posting is complete, verify the production order work in process from Related > Order > Entries. To transfer these entries to the project, finish the production order.
Steps - Finish the production order
In the released production order, use the Change Status action to open the pop-up.
Select Finished and leave the other options unchanged.
When complete, return to the project.
Open the Project Ledger Entries and note the new entries for use of components and setup and run time.
Note that there is no project ledger entry for the finished product because costs are already recorded as details.
On the project planning line, the finished product is in reserved inventory.
Post the project planning line to create an item ledger entry of the type Negative Adjustment to consume or deliver the finished product.
