Setting up Transport and Deliveries

Prev Next

To use Transport and Deliveries, provide some basic settings.

Steps - Transport and Deliveries - Basic settings

  1. Choose the  Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature icon (Alt+Q), enter Transport & Deliveries, and click the relevant link.

  2. Provide values for the following fields:

    General tab:

    Field

    Description

    Default Package Type

Specify the default container or package type. When adding a new container, the default type is filled automatically.

    Use Container Status Loaded

When selected, a transport order or delivery trip can only be posted when all containers have the status Loaded.

    Container Inventory Check

When selected, the inventory of the selected container is checked. A warning appears when inventory goes negative. Options: Blank: no warning. Warning: the user gets a warning that no inventory is available; accepting the message releases the transport order or delivery trip. Error: an error appears and the activity stops.

    Container Location

Select the warehouse location where containers are stored. Usually a basic location without Anywhere Mobility Solutions warehouse settings.

    Load Length Factor

Used to calculate the load length for a container: usually the average width of a truck.

    Numbering tab:

    Field

    Description

    Inbound Transport Order Nos

Specify the number series for inbound transport orders.

    Outbound Transport Order Nos

Specify the number series for outbound transport orders.

    Inbound Posted Transport Order Nos

Specify the number series for inbound posted transport orders.

    Outbound Posted Transport Order Nos

Specify the number series for outbound posted transport orders.

    Delivery Trip Nos

Specify a number series for delivery trips.

    Container ID Nos

Specify the number series for container IDs. Using IDs ensures each package is uniquely identified. This feature is useful for RFID as well.

Set up per location

After setting up Transport and Deliveries, provide specific settings per location:

Field

Description

Transport Order Type

Mandatory. Specify the direction of the order: Inbound or Outbound.

Location Code

Mandatory. Specify the location for the inbound or outbound transport order.

Description

Enter a generic description to use as default in all transport orders for the specified location and type. Use this text as standard text on freight bills.

Cost Warning

Checks if cost lines exist when a transport order is released. Options: Blank: no warning. Warning: the user gets a warning that no cost lines exist; accepting the message releases the transport order or delivery trip without cost lines. Error: an error appears and the activity stops. The error only appears when no cost lines are found.

Warehousing must be completed

When set, warehouse and inventory activities must be completed before the transport order for this location is released: inventory pick posted, warehouse pick registered, project planning line posted.

Link Container

When selected, a transport order is automatically created or updated when the container is closed.
