# Set up commodity cost components

You can set up the commodity cost components used with commodity classes as codes. You can then assign components to a commodity class, which lets you calculate costs for a commodity class based on its assigned components.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Commodity Cost Components**, and then choose the related link.
2. On the **Home** tab, in the **New** group, choose **New**.
3. On the new line, fill in the fields.
