This document provides information on setting up allergen information in Food Manufacturing & Distribution.

Setting up allergens in Food Manufacturing & Distribution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consists of two parts. The first is a simple setting on the Inventory Setup page, called the Allergen Consumption Enforcement Level. The second part is declaring the actual allergens in the system so that you can assign them to objects and use and report on them.

After you set up allergens, you can link them to items, unapproved items, and BOMs. To pass allergen information from one item through a BOM to another item, use the Allergen Rollup. You can set up this rollup through the job queue.

Workflows

Food Manufacturing & Distribution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central includes two approval workflows:

  • Add allergens to the system as base data.

  • Add allergens to individual items. The approval workflows follows standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central procedures and apply only to these two tables. No-approval workflows exist to add allergens to unapproved items or BOMs.
