# SETENCODING activity

In Business Integration Solutions, use the **SetEncoding** activity to set a specific encoding on the message.

## Usage

Use this activity to set a specific text encoding on the incoming message.

## Setup

| Field | Description | Observation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Encoding | Indicates the encoding to set on the message. | Values: **MSDOS**, **UTF16**, **UTF8**, and **Windows**. |
