# Set up the CSV to XML Translator activity

Use a CSV to XML Translator activity when you receive external data in CSV format that must process into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

## Steps

1. Create a connection and insert the element **CSVTOXMLTRANSLATOR**.
2. On the elements line, select **Edit**.
3. On the **CSV to XML Translator Setup** page, fill in the following fields:

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Document Type | Select the document type: either **Internal** or **External**. |
| Document No. | Based on the document type, select the document. |
| Start Row | Select the starting row in the CSV file from which to start the translation. |
| Delimiter | Select a default delimiter: **Semicolon**, **Comma**, or **Space**. If another delimiter is used, select **Other** and specify the character. |
| Character | Specify the delimiter character if you selected delimiter type **Other**. |

1. Select **Check Configuration** to see if there are Anywhere Mobility Solutions configuration errors.
2. Select **OK**.
