# Set up production planning events

You can set up production planning events that represent non-production order activities as codes, then assign them to combinations of equipment and dates on production planning tools such as the **Batch Planning Worksheet** and **Production Sequence** pages. This provides visibility to periods of time during which a piece of equipment is unavailable for production activity.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Production Planning Events**, and then choose the related link.
2. On the **Home** tab, in the **New** group, choose **New**.
3. On the new line, fill in the fields.
