# Set up maintenance journal templates

A template is a predefined layout for a journal. The template contains information about trace codes, reports, and number series.

The program automatically creates a maintenance journal template the first time you open a maintenance journal page. You can set up additional journal templates.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Maintenance Journal Templates**, and then choose the related link.
2. Fill in the relevant fields.
