# Set up lot aging profiles

You can create a lot aging profile and then assign a series of lot aging categories to that profile, along with a specified duration. These durations are applied to an item lot's production date to determine the appropriate lot aging category for that lot. Set up the relevant lot aging categories before performing this activity.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Lot Aging Profiles**, and then choose the related link.
2. On the **Home** tab, in the **New** group, choose **New**.
3. Fill in a line with a code and a description for the lot aging profile.
4. On the **Navigate** tab, in the **Profile** group, choose **Categories**.
5. On the **Lot Aging Profile Categories** page, fill in the fields.
