# Set up item accrual groups

Set up the item accrual groups used with accrual plans as codes with group members comprising item records. You can then assign a group to an accrual plan, and suggested accruals for the plan are based on sales or purchase transactions for the corresponding group members.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Item Groups**, and then choose the related link.
2. On the **Home** tab, in the **New** group, choose **New**. The **Item Accrual Group Card** page appears.
3. On the **General** FastTab, enter a code and a descriptive name in the fields.
4. On the **Lines** FastTab, assign the group members.
