Set up BOM lot preferences

Prev Next

You can define BOM lot preferences for production components. When an item lot is entered on a consumption journal line for a production order, the program alerts you if the entered lot does not meet the defined lot preferences.

The following steps describe how to set up BOM lot preferences for a package BOM. The same procedure applies to formulas, item processes, and co-product/by-product processes. For simplicity, only a package BOM is described in detail.

Steps

  1. In the search box, enter Package BOMs, and then choose the related link.

  2. Select the package BOM that you want to assign one or more lot preferences to.

  3. On the Versions FastTab, select the package BOM version that will have lot preferences, choose Actions, and then choose Edit Version. The Package BOM Version page appears.

The Lines FastTab displays the package BOM's components. Lot preferences are defined for specific components.

  4. Select the component that will have lot preferences, choose Actions, and then choose Lot Preferences. The BOM Line Lot Preferences page appears.

The BOM Line Lot Preferences page contains two tables. Define lot age preferences in the top table and lot specification preferences in the bottom table. All lot preferences entered on this page apply to the selected BOM component.

  5. Fill in the remaining fields.
