The way a location is set up affects the actions required to complete the delivery trip management process.
When you open the Delivery Trip Management page to assign orders to delivery trips, you must enter a location filter. In addition to filtering the available outbound documents, the program also uses the location's delivery trip setup to determine the process through which delivery trips are completed.
Unlike other location settings that become permanent once activity is recorded for the location, you can change a location's delivery trip settings after ledger entries have been made, if necessary.
To use the delivery trip functionality, activate it on the location card.
Steps - To activate delivery trips
In the search box, enter Locations, and then choose the related link.
Select the location where you want to enable delivery trips. On the Home tab, in the Manage group, choose Edit.
On the Delivery Trips FastTab, select Use Delivery Trips (Sales), Use Delivery Trips (Purchase), or Use Delivery Trips (Transfer) to enable delivery trips for outbound sales orders, outbound purchase return orders, and outbound transfer orders.
Steps - To use delivery trip picking
In the search box, enter Locations, and then choose the related link.
Select the location where you want to enable delivery trip picking. On the Home tab, in the Manage group, choose Edit.
On the Delivery Trips FastTab, fill in the Delivery Trip Picking field with the method by which you want to record delivery trip picks.
If you want the program to automatically generate a pick for delivery trip shorts, select the Maintain Pick for Shorts field.
Steps - To enable truck loading
If the location is designated as an automated data capture picking location, you can enable additional truck loading features.
In the search box, enter Locations, and then choose the related link.
Select the location where you want to enable truck loading. On the Home tab, in the Manage group, choose Edit.
On the Delivery Trips FastTab, select the Use ADC for Truck Loading field.
