Sales & Marketing

Prev Next

To acquire new customers and maintain relationships with existing ones, a business may use many different marketing techniques and strategies. Food Manufacturing & Distribution introduces several features that let companies define advanced marketing programs.

Enhanced pricing functionality gives a business the ability to set up and maintain several sales prices for the same item. You can define pricing plans for groups of customers and items and calculate them according to many different methods and from a variety of sources. Prices can remain static or be recalculated regularly to account for fluctuations in item costs. You can also configure discounts to apply to specific sales lines or entire invoices.

You can set up promotional programs such as rebates and billbacks as separate plans in the system. You can configure plans to automatically monitor transactions and accrue amounts to a ledger when certain conditions are met. These accrued amounts are paid out at a later time. By setting up separate records for each marketing plan, you can track payments on a program-by-program basis. This same accrual functionality also applies to sales commission plans.

The following table describes the areas of marketing plan functionality within Food Manufacturing & Distribution, with links to the topics that describe them.
