When using put-away templates in a directed warehouse, put items in a Quality Management Quality Control bin before moving them to a storage or picking bin in the warehouse.
Note
These scenarios create an extra step in the receiving process:
From receiving to Quality Control.
From Quality Control to storage.
Setup
Put-away template
A Put-away Template is used when, on the Location card, the warehouse setting Directed Put-away and Pick is on. Select the template on the Bin Policies tab, Put-away Template Code field.
A new column is available on the Put-away Template: Find Quality Control Zone Bin. Because the Put-away Template lines are processed top-down, make sure that column is selected in the first line(s) of the template.
For example:
Find Fixed Bin | Find Floating Bin | Find Same Item | Find Unit of Measure Match | Find Bin w. less than Min. Qty | Find Empty Bin | Find Quality Control Zone Bin |

Zone
From the Location card, select Zones to create a Quality Management Zone. The Bin Type Code must be PUTAWAY for this zone, as the put-away process must be able to find it.
Bin
From the Zones card, select Bins to create bins for the new zone. Make sure to check the Quality Control Bin column.
Quality Management Subscriber
A specific Quality Management subscriber is available: 7319 Posted Whse. Receipt Line: Quality Management-QC bin Put-away. Select this in Quality Management Subscribers to create an incident when the warehouse put-away is created.
With this subscriber, the program checks the Put-away Template for a Find Quality Control Zone Bin. When no Quality Management incident is created, the program ignores Find Quality Control Zone Bin.
Move material from the Quality Management-QC bin to its final location
Once material is inspected and either Accepted or Rejected, move it out of the Quality Management-QC bin to its final destination in the warehouse.
Do this with the Movement Worksheet. These worksheets are per warehouse. Use the Get Bin Content action in the worksheet list to show items per zone or per bin.
Select the lines that are ready to be moved and select the destination zone and bin. When complete, use the Create Movement action to create a warehouse movement with which warehouse employees can be instructed to move the items.
