Process quality control samples

Prev Next

A quality assurance/Quality Control employee takes a sample from inventory to test (also known as a destructive probe). Because this sample has a value, a write-off from inventory is required. A warehouse employee can do this, but it takes extra time and effort. The Quality Control sample feature lets the QA/QC employee write off the sample directly.

The QA/QC employee needs to record five things:

  • Sample unit of measure

  • Quantity per sample unit of measure

  • Location (when applicable)

  • Bin (when applicable)

  • Container ID (when applicable)

With this information, post the sample from an open Quality Control activity. For more information, see Execute quality control.

Steps

  1. Go to the Open Quality Control Activity List.

  2. Open the appropriate Quality Control activity.

  3. Go to Process.

  4. Go to Quality Control Samples.

  5. Add Location when applicable.

  6. Add Bin when applicable.

  7. Add Container ID when applicable.

  8. Check that the Reason Code is correct.

  9. Check that the calculated quantity on the lines is correct. You can adjust the quantity manually when needed.

  10. Choose Post.
