Once a container is created and has the status **Open**, you can add items. a check confirms that all items added share the same shipping or receiving information: - **Location Code** - **Address No.**: Sell-to Customer or Buy-from Vendor. - **Address Code**: Ship-to Address or Order Address Code. - **Pickup/Delivery Address**: Customer, Vendor, or Location. - **Shipment Method** - **Shipping Agent** - **Shipping Agent Service** ## Steps - Link container When the **Container Worksheet** is opened from an inventory or warehouse put-away or pick, link the put-away or pick to an existing container instead of creating a new one. 1. Click **Link Container**. 2. Select the container from the list. 3. Click **OK** to add the container to the list. ## Steps - Add content to container Add content with the container wizard. 1. Click **Add Content to Container** to open the wizard. 2. Select **Item No.** to filter on specific items, or click **Next** to open the full content list. 3. Select the **Include** check box and specify **Qty. to Container** if required. 4. Click **Finish** to complete. The selected content lines are added. The **Container Details** tab shows the content of the selected container. > [!NOTE] > Note > > - The container wizard supports adding items from a specific lot number or serial number. Use **Personalize** to add these fields to the list. > - Only content with the same delivery and pickup address, the same **Shipping Agent** (services), and the same shipping date can be added to a single container. ## Close container The container has three status codes: **Open**, **Closed**, and **Loaded**. Change the status manually. When closing a container, the total theoretical weight and volume are calculated based on the net weight set for the item multiplied by the quantity. The tare weight of the container is added to the total net weight to arrive at the gross weight. A closed container can be reopened until the transport order it is linked to is released. When a transport order is released, linked containers close automatically. ## Unlink container When the **Container Worksheet** is opened from an inventory put-away or pick, unlink available containers instead of removing them. The content is removed when you unlink a container. ## Related - [Working with containers](/bc-working-with-containers.md) - [Set up container types](/bc-set-up-container-types.md) - [Create containers](/bc-create-containers.md) - [Cross-dock containers](/bc-cross-docking-containers.md) - [Use miscellaneous containers](/bc-use-miscellaneous-containers.md)
