# OUTLOOKWRITER endpoint

In Business Integration Solutions, the **OUTLOOKWRITER** endpoint writes messages in your default email client.

## Usage

Use this endpoint to save your messages in EML (email message) format, which you can open in Microsoft Outlook.

## Concept

Use this endpoint especially when you want to send notifications using Microsoft Outlook. It works best with the following activities:

- **XML To HTML Translator** activity: Provides messages in HTML or plain text format.
- **Attachment Generator** activity: Attaches standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central reports in PDF, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel formats.

> 
> This endpoint does not require specific settings. Microsoft Outlook does not have to be installed, you can also use other email clients such as Windows Mail or Firefox Mail.
