# Link a maintenance plan to a service item

Use the **Service Item** page to link a maintenance plan to a service item.

1. In the search box, type **Service Item**.
2. Select **Service Item** to open the list of service items.
3. Select the service item to link a maintenance plan to and click **Edit** to open the **Service Item card**.
4. Select the **Navigate** tab and locate the **Maintenance Plan** action. Click to open the **Service Item Maintenance Plan** list.
5. Click **New** in the **Service Item Maintenance Plan List**.
6. Select the **Action** tab and use the **Copy Main. Plan Template** action to create the service item maintenance plan from a template. In the **Copy Maintenance Plan** page, select a maintenance plan template.
