# Lifecycle event

In Business Integration Solutions, the **Lifecycle** event triggers a pipeline based on a change in the defined lifecycle state transitions.

## Usage

Use this event to export Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central data in a controlled manner, based on lifecycle state transitions.

## Concept

Lifecycle Base is a part of Solution Center where you can set up:

- Lifecycle types
- Lifecycles
- Lifecycle states

In the **Lifecycle** event settings, you can specify on which lifecycle state change the event should trigger. For example, you define a lifecycle for items with four status codes. Once the status code changes to state code number four, the item information exports immediately.

A **Lifecycle** event carries a record set and you can batch-process it.

> **Note**
> 
> To use the **Lifecycle** event, you must first define the lifecycle and lifecycle states. Note that the **Lifecycle** event does not detect changes to the **Status** field of a certain record, for example, a sales order. Use the **Record Change** event for that purpose.
