If a partner uses extensions to provide customer-specific modifications or to deliver add-on functionality, those extensions may build upon STAEDEAN solutions. In that case, STAEDEAN must deliver extension points in its objects or (as long as embed apps apply) in standard Microsoft objects that are part of the embed app.
Steps
The partner raises a support case of type Request. In the description, note that this is a request for extension points and provide as much detail as possible: which object, which function, which location, why it is needed, and the business scenario.
The STAEDEAN support team forwards this to the development team during their daily meeting and creates a change request.
The change request is reviewed in the next sprint, where the team evaluates the change.
If the team deems the request not feasible, the lead developer documents the reason and, where possible, describes an alternative approach. The support team delivers this back to the partner.
If the request is approved, it schedules for delivery in one of the following monthly updates, ensuring the quality of both the product and the new feature.
Note
Extension points requested for an embed solution in a standard Microsoft object cannot be accepted. These objects are or will become obsolete and replace with extension points in STAEDEAN objects. In these cases, the extension point is removed and everyone receives timely notification.
