Process containers

Prev Next

Once the necessary container tracking records and values are configured, you can create and work with containers.

Container records are created according to the container assignment rules defined for container items. Depending on these rules, a container record consists of a container item and one or more assigned inventory items.

When you assign a container record to a transaction, information about the container's contents is added to the associated transaction lines. In addition, a new transaction line is created for the container item itself. Depending on the type of transaction and how a container item is set up, a container may or may not remain in inventory once the transaction is posted.

The following table describes a sequence of activities, with links to the topics that describe them. These activities are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
