# Fill in recurring accrual journals

If you post certain accruals frequently with few or no changes, use recurring accrual journals. A recurring accrual journal is an accrual journal with special fields for managing recurring transactions.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Recurring Journals**, and then choose the related link.
2. On the **Recurring Accrual Journal** page, fill in the fields.
3. Post the journal.

Note that the dates are different from the dates you entered. The changes are made according to the formula in the **Recurring Frequency** field. On lines where the **Recurring Method** field contains **Fixed**, the amount is unchanged. On lines where the **Recurring Method** field contains **Variable**, the amount has been cleared.
