Distribution planning

Prev Next

Distribution processes within the Food Manufacturing & Distribution industry are varied and extensive, from the actual distribution of packaged Food Manufacturing & Distribution, to recording additional item costs at the time of receipt, from supporting truckload receiving to the Terminal Market functionality and lot settlement.

Food Manufacturing & Distribution provides two levels of support for distribution processes in Food Manufacturing & Distribution-related companies.

The first level is part of the Food Manufacturing & Distribution core and is available to all Food Manufacturing & Distribution customers. This level includes support for:

  • Using extra charges for items at the time of receipt of goods, rather than at the time of posting the invoice

  • Executing truckload receiving, where selected receipts are handled as one instead of order by order

  • Terminal Market functionality, where fresh produce is sold from several vendors and collected on one sales invoice and paid immediately

  • Using lot settlement functionality to let the sales results of a lot determine the actual purchase price

The second level is available as a separate module and supports functionality such as:

  • Using Pickup Load functionality to combine delivery of goods with pickup of orders from vendors

  • Using Standard Sales Orders as an extension of the standard D365 BC blanket sales order functionality

  • Delivery trips that manage several deliveries at several addresses on a given day by a given truck
