Distribution processes within the Food Manufacturing & Distribution industry are varied and extensive, from the actual distribution of packaged Food Manufacturing & Distribution, to recording additional item costs at the time of receipt, from supporting truckload receiving to the Terminal Market functionality and lot settlement.
Food Manufacturing & Distribution provides two levels of support for distribution processes in Food Manufacturing & Distribution-related companies.
The first level is part of the Food Manufacturing & Distribution core and is available to all Food Manufacturing & Distribution customers. This level includes support for:
Using extra charges for items at the time of receipt of goods, rather than at the time of posting the invoice
Executing truckload receiving, where selected receipts are handled as one instead of order by order
Terminal Market functionality, where fresh produce is sold from several vendors and collected on one sales invoice and paid immediately
Using lot settlement functionality to let the sales results of a lot determine the actual purchase price
The second level is available as a separate module and supports functionality such as:
Using Pickup Load functionality to combine delivery of goods with pickup of orders from vendors
Using Standard Sales Orders as an extension of the standard D365 BC blanket sales order functionality
Delivery trips that manage several deliveries at several addresses on a given day by a given truck
