# Create standing orders

Use standing orders when a customer typically places a sales order for the same items and quantities, especially on a regular basis.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Standing Sales Orders**, and then choose the related link.
2. On the **Home** tab, in the **New** group, choose **New** to create a new standing sales order.
3. In the **No.** field, press Enter to select the next available number. Fill in the **Sell-to Customer No.** field.
4. Fill in the other fields on the header.
5. Select **Item** in the **Type** field for each line and fill in the **No.** field.
6. In the **Quantity** field for each line, enter the amount to be ordered.
