You can also work with parent questions. For example, make a parent question asking whether a certain option is on the product. If the answer is **Yes**, the list of questions expands with additional questions. If **No**, the additional questions remain hidden. Questions must be combined in [question sets](/business-central/docs/create-and-maintain-question-sets). With a score per answer in the question and a weight per question in the question set, [check sheets can be rated](/business-central/docs/bc-check-sheet-rating). ## Steps 1. Choose the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/da662430-6a41-47b1-8c7e-7e4ac37a9756/Images/Documentation/image(148).png) icon (Alt+Q). 2. Type **Question List** in the search box. 3. Select **New** to start a new question, or select a question and select **Edit** to open the card. 4. Fill in the fields: | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | Code | Identifies the question. | | Scope | Use this field to apply a question scope: **Document**: the question applies to each document (check sheet); **Item**: the question applies to each item in the check sheet. | | Description and Description 2 | Type the question to appear in the check sheet. | | Type | Use this field to apply a question type: **Boolean**: expects a simple **Yes** or **No** answer; the setting in the **Boolean** field is the target value: Yes = accepted, No = rejected. **Lookup**: provides a several-choice option; a subform opens when selected. **Numeric**: looks for a numeric value; the target value must be between Tolerance (−) and Tolerance (+); specify the tolerance type (Percentage or Fixed); a subform opens when selected. **Text**: provides a text description option; specify a text value when **Type** = **Text**. | | Sub Type | Select **Blank** (regular) or **Parent**. Parent questions can only be of the type **Boolean**. When answered **Yes**, the questions linked to the parent expand in the check sheet. | | Parent Code | Questions with sub type regular (blank) can be linked to a parent question. These questions only show when the parent question is expanded. | | Boolean | Select the accepted answer when **Type** = **Boolean**. | | Numeric Target Value | Type the number you want as answer. | | Numeric Tolerance Type | Select the type of tolerances allowed: **Fixed**: tolerances are specified as a set of fixed From−To values; **Percentage**: tolerances are specified as a set of percentages. For tolerances (−), set the target value as a −%; for tolerances (+), use %. | | Text | Specify a text value when **Type** = **Text**. | | Boolean Accepted Score | Type the score value when the **Boolean** type question is answered with the target value. | | Measuring Tool | Select a resource type machine as a tool for this question. | | Include Quality Measures | Set to **True** if quality measures specified for the operation in the routing must be expanded as sub-questions. | > [!NOTE] > Note > > To include quality measures, set these question fields as follows: **Scope** = **Item**, **Type** = **Boolean**, **Sub Type** = **Parent**, **Boolean** = **Yes**. See below for more on quality measures. 5. Set up lookup values You can set up lookup values on the **Question Lookup Values** fast tab. This fast tab is dynamic, only visible for a **Lookup** type question. | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | Lookup | Type the code you want the user to select from. | | Target Value | When checked, the lookup is marked as a preferred answer. More than one answer can be marked as target. Target answers mark the question as **Accepted**. | | Score | The score value for the answer, multiplied by the question weight to create a line score in the check sheet. | 6. Set up numeric tolerances You can set up numeric tolerances on the **Question Tolerances** fast tab. This fast tab is dynamic, only visible for a **Numeric** type question. | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | From Value | Type the lower tolerance (based on the **Numeric Tolerance Type** in the question). | | To Value | Type the higher tolerance (based on the **Numeric Tolerance Type** in the question). | | Score | The score value for the answer, multiplied by the question weight to create a line score in the check sheet. | | Result Status | Select one of three options: **Accepted**: within the tolerance, the question is accepted; **Ambiguous**: questionable, requires an additional decision; **Rejected**: outside the range, the question is rejected. | 7. Set up quality measures With this functionality, the standard quality measures from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central's routing are combined with the question set specified in the measurement template. > [!NOTE] > Note > > More information on using quality measures in the target templates for standard tasks and the design details on Manufacturing Integration is available through the links below. 1. Type **Routing** in the search box to open the **Routing List** and select the routing to update (for example, 1150). 2. Select an operation from the lines and open the operation menu to select **Quality Measures**. 3. Complete the following fields on the **Routing Quality Measures** page: | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | Qlty. Measure Code | Select from a standard list of quality measure codes. If necessary, use **New** to create new codes. | | Description | Initially copied from the list of quality measurement codes. Once copied, modify it to be specific for the routing quality measure. | | Min. Value | Specify the minimum value for the measure (the lower tolerance). | | Max. Value | Specify the maximum value for the measure (the higher tolerance). | | Mean Tolerance | Specify the target value for the measure: a value between the lower and the higher tolerance. The mean tolerance must be between **Min. Value** and **Max. Value**. | 1. Set the new [subscriber](/business-central/docs/bc-qm-subscribers) for the **Prod. Order Routing Line**, Table 5409, **Prod. Order Routing Line: OnAfterModifyEvent (New)**. 2. Make sure the [measurement template](/business-central/docs/bc-setup-a-measurement-template) specifies table 5409 and the [question set](/business-central/docs/create-and-maintain-question-sets) includes a question where **Include Quality Measures** is set to **True** (see above). ## Related - [Use the Standard task template](/bc-use-the-standard-task-template.md) - [Manufacturing integration](/bc-manufacturing-integration.md) - [Quality Management](/bc-quality-management.md)
