Create a project task from a change order

When the change order is approved, you can add it to the project as a project task to execute. You can only create the project task when the change order is Approved, which is indicated by the Approved field on the change order line.

Steps

  1. In the Project Change Order, locate Create Project Task in the ribbon and click to open the Create Project Task page.

  2. On the Create Project Task page, fill in the following fields:

    Field

    Description

    Project Task No.

    Enter a project task number. This must be a numerical value and unique within the project.

    Description

    Copied from the project change order but can be updated.

    Project Element No.

    Select a project element, if elements are used on the project.

    Project Activity No.

    Select a project activity, if activities are used on the project.

    Invoice Template Code

    Select an invoice template code from the drop-down list to set an invoicing method specific to the project task.

    Invoicing Method

    The invoice template sets the invoicing method, but you can change it.

    Contract Amount and Contract Amount (LCY)

    Only applicable in combination with the Fixed Price invoicing method.

    Starting Date and Ending Date

    Set the starting and ending dates for the project task.

    Nr. of Days

    Set the number of working days for the project task.

    Project Posting Group

    Select a project posting group for the project task if it needs to differ from the project posting group.

    Surcharge Model Code

    Select a surcharge model code for the project task if it needs to differ from the project surcharge model code.

    WIP Method and WIP-Total

    Set the WIP method for the project task. For change orders, the WIP Method and WIP-Total fields are often kept outside of the project WIP.

  1. When the page is complete, click Yes to create the project task.
