# Create a production container during a production pick

You create a production container on a pick in the same way a shipping container is created during a pick for shipment.

Select the **Container ID** field on the place line and in the ribbon on the lines page, choose **New Container**.

The container is created and automatically assigned to the production order and, if necessary and depending on the settings, to the production order line.
