# Copy data collection lines

You can open the data collection lines for a master record, then use the **Copy Data Collection Lines** batch job to copy information from existing data collection lines. This is useful when setting up several master records that have similar data collection requirements.

The following steps describe how to copy data collection lines between items. The same procedure applies to other master records such as locations, customers, vendors, resources, zones, bins, work centres, machine centres, and maintenance assets. For simplicity, only an item is described in detail.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Items**, and then choose the related link.
2. Open the item card for the item that will have data collection lines.
3. On the **Navigate** tab, in the **Master Data** group, choose **Data Collection Lines**. The **Data Collection Lines** page appears.
4. On the **Actions** tab, in the **General** group, choose **Copy**.
5. On the **Options** FastTab, fill in the fields.
6. Choose **OK** to start the batch job.

When the batch job finishes, the data collection line information specified in the request form is copied to the new data collection lines.
