# Configure quality control

Before you can start recording Quality Control activities, configure the records and values that define the company's testing procedures.

Set up the item properties tested as part of a Quality Control activity as data collection data elements. By assigning data collection data elements to an item as quality tests, the program creates a Quality Control activity comprising these tests whenever a new item lot is received into inventory.

The following table describes a sequence of activities, with links to the topics that describe them. These activities are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
