# Change log

A change log is a mechanism that reacts to data changes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and carries out actions.

In a multi-user enterprise application with an underlying database, data can update in different ways, at different times, by different people and different programs. In integration scenarios, it is sometimes necessary to start an export of data when a change occurs on certain data. A change log serves this purpose. The change log defines on a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central table and handles Create, Update, Delete, and Rename actions.

The Business Integration Solutions change log uses the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central standard change log mechanisms and maps them to a record change event.
