# Assign routing information to equipment

If routings are used in production, link them to the pieces of equipment assigned to a production BOM. When a production order is scheduled to a piece of equipment, the program assigns the routing linked to that piece of equipment to the production order.

The following steps describe how to assign routing information to a package BOM's assigned equipment. The same procedure applies to formulas, item processes, and co-product/by-product processes. For simplicity, only a package BOM is described in detail.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Package BOMs**, and then choose the related link.
2. Open the relevant package BOM card. On the **Versions** FastTab, select the package BOM version that will have routings and choose **Edit Version**. The **Package BOM Version** page appears.
3. On the **Equipment** FastTab, select the line for the piece of equipment you want to link to a routing.
4. In the **Routing No.** field, enter the routing you want to link to the piece of equipment.
