# Assign items to replenishment areas

After setting up your replenishment areas, assign items to them. When a production order is created for an item, the item's defined replenishment area is automatically assigned to the production order.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Locations**, and then choose the related link.
2. Select the location for which you want to assign items to replenishment areas.
3. On the **Navigate** tab, in the **Location** group, choose **Item Replenishment Areas**.
4. On the **Item Replenishment Areas** page, fill in the fields.
5. Repeat the procedure for each item you want to assign to a replenishment area.

> Note
> 
> You cannot assign an item to several replenishment areas within the same location.
