# Assign items to fixed production bins

After setting up your bins, designate fixed production bins by assigning items to them. During production reporting, an item with a fixed production bin is consumed directly from that bin rather than from a replenishment area's defined inbound bin.

## Steps

1. In the search box, enter **Locations**, and then choose the related link.
2. Select the location where you want to assign items to fixed production bins. On the **Home** tab, in the **Manage** group, choose **Edit**.
3. On the **Navigate** tab, in the **Location** group, choose **Item Fixed Production Bins**.
4. On the **Item Fixed Production Bins** page, fill in the fields.
5. Repeat the procedure for each item you want to assign to a fixed production bin.

> Note
> 
> You cannot assign an item to several fixed production bins within the same location.
