In the search box, enter **Transfer Orders**, and then choose the related link. 2. Select the transfer order to which you want to assign a container. 3. On the **Navigate** tab, in the **Warehouse** group, choose **Containers**. Select whether you want to link a container to the shipping or the receiving transaction. The **Container Assignments** page appears. 4. In the **Container ID** field, select the container you want to assign to the transfer order. 5. Assign additional containers if necessary. 6. Choose **OK**. Transfer lines are added to the order for each container you have entered. Information about the items stored within each container (such as quantity and lot number) is copied to the relevant transfer lines. > [!NOTE] > Note > > If a container holds a greater quantity of an item than the transfer line requires, the program does not allow it to be assigned to the transfer order. For more information on using and setting up containers, see [About containers](/business-central/docs/bc-about-containers). ## Related - [About containers](/bc-about-containers.md) - [Handle multi-item containers](/bc-handle-multi-item-containers.md)
