In this scenario, the machine is planned according to its capacity when Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central calculates the **Planning Worksheet**. This is useful when a resource always works at the same machine. Prepare these assignments through standard tasks or directly in the routing. The following functionality is available to allocate resources to manufacturing orders. ## Steps - Standard tasks Standard tasks are used as a template to complete routings. An option to add resource groups and/or resources has been added to the **Navigate** menu: 1. Type **Standard Tasks** in the search box and select the one in Manufacturing/Capacities/Setup. 2. Create a new standard task. 3. Select the **Navigate** tab to find the different items that can be attached to a standard task: Tools, Personnel, Description, Quality Measures, and Resources. ## Steps - Routing Resource groups and/or resources can be inserted directly into routings: 1. Type **Routings** in the search box and select the one in Product Design. 2. Open an existing routing (for example, 1000 Bicycle). 3. Select an operation from the list. 4. To add a standard task, make the **Standard Task** column visible in the list and select the standard task from the drop-down list to add all items attached to the operation. 5. Open the **Line** menu, select **Operation**, and then select **Resource**. 6. In the **Routing Resource**, specify the following fields: - **Resource No.**: select a specific resource (Description and Resource Group are retrieved automatically). - **Work Type**: required to determine the specific rate for the resource. - **Operation Type**: **Setup Time** or **Run Time**. - **% of Operation Time**: the percentage of the selected operation time done by the resource (if the resource does all work: 100%; if two resources: 50% each, and so on). ## Related - [Resources as operators](/bc-resources-as-operators.md) - [Cost resources in production](/bc-cost-resources-in-production.md)
